“As your next State Assemblyman, I will never stop fighting for our district and our community. As a husband I will fight for laws that make our community safer. As a father I will fight to give parents more say in their children’s education or the ability to move them to a school where the parents have a choice. As a Christian I will fight government overreach that shut down our churches when people needed hope the most. As a Certified Financial Planner I will fight a bloated state budget that hurts working class Californians.”
– Ian Weeks
Who is Ian Weeks?
Ian Weeks grew up in the Temecula Valley, and now lives in Hemet with his wife of 11 years, and two young sons. Ian is, first and foremost, a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ. He is a graduate of the University of Redlands School of Business, and professionally, a Certified Financial Planner. Ian has practiced financial planning for the last 16 years. He also serves as one of the worship leaders at his local church. He is an avid outdoorsman, and spends his free time with his family boating, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding.
More about Ian…
Having spent his entire life in California, Ian has seen first-hand the dramatic decline of the state, and the dire consequences of decades of single party legislative rule in Sacramento. Ian has grown increasingly concerned as these policies have crushed the every-day citizens of this once great state. Crime and homelessness are on the rise. The cost of living, especially housing and fuel, is out of control. California’s education system is uncomfortably close to the bottom of the list, nationally. And yet, progressive Sacramento elites like Gavin Newsom and the Democrat legislature forge ahead, undeterred, and out of touch.
Despite these challenges, Ian has been blessed to share in the American Dream. A dream that may not be possible for the next generation of Californians due to the high cost of living, housing shortages, and the difficulty of operating a business in California. As he witnessed the struggle, he realized that being an outspoken advocate for conservative fiscal and family values may not be enough.
Recently, he was asked to step up and fight for those values in the California State Assembly. Ian understands why many are choosing to leave California for greater freedom and sensibility in other states. But he has chosen to stay, and to stand and fight for our shared values. While he and his wife knew this would change their lives significantly, they believe that God has called them to serve others, and to stand up for what’s true and right, no matter the cost.
As your next Assemblyman, Ian will advocate for policies that make life better for regular California families. Policies that are tough on crime, sensible on fiscal matters, friendly for businesses, while remaining compassionate to our neediest citizens. Ian believes that the practical needs of the citizens must come first over ideological positions. Ian will lead with integrity, honesty, and transparency.
Democrats have held control over the California Legislature for over 70 years. Their policies have benefited a select few members of the elite class, while simultaneously failing the vast majority of our citizenry. It’s time for a change. Join Ian Weeks, and together, let’s restore this beautiful state to its former glory.
Roll back laws that reduced punishments for criminals for violent offenses and sex offenders. Give police more tools and flexibility to combat serious street criminals and gangs and the support they need to do their jobs.
Ian will bring more transparency to the classrooms and give parents more say over what is taught in the classrooms. Parents should be able to move children out of underperforming schools or classrooms where ideologies are pushed instead of education.
Cost of Living…
Ian will push back on new and existing policies that make everything from daily utilities like water, fuel, and electricity some of the highest rates in the country. Ian will support more housing to bring the cost of homeownership down and make affordability possible to the next generation of Californians.
Ian will work to defeat new restrictions on job creators to encourage businesses moving out of the State to stay here with their employees and contributions to the 5th largest economy in the world.
Public Space/Land Conservation…
Ian believes that you can protect endangered species and build the roads and water infrastructure to support California’s population.
